Wildervale is a 2011 KUSA Registered Kennel based in South Africa that is passionate about Wire Haired Dachshunds.
We started showing dogs in 2003 with our first Irish Wolf Hound. In 2008 we acquired our first Miniature Wire Haired and in 2016 our first Standard Wire Haired.
In 2018 we imported semen from top mini wire breeder Lotta Soderberg of Kennel Sweetax in Sweden. This resulted in the first two mini wires ever produced
by surgical insemination using frozen semen in South Africa. The procedure was performed by Dr Nathalie Rouget and in September 2018, Arik and Julia were born.
At 6 weeks old Lotta was able to meet them during her visit to South Afica. By age 4, Arik was my first Grand Champion.
In 2020 we imported Standard Wire Pablo from Kennel Credo in Poland. Pablo is sired by 3 time World Winner Ex Sentia Devil's Advocate. By age 3 Pablo was a
Grand and International Champion. Shortly thereafter Tarawera was imported from Kennel Tango Karramba and Miranda Priestly of Kennel Ex Sentia in Poland.
In 2023 we imported Von Vivaldi Grom Tango Karramba (FCI) from Poland. Grom's grandfathers are Ex Sentia Devil's Advocate
and Treis Pinheiros Sunday Silence. Treis Pinheros is a very well known and respected kennel in Brazil.
In 2023 we also imported mini boy Pan Tadeusz Brzdac from Poland. The Brzdac kennel is very active in showing their quality dogs in Europe.
It is the same kennel which Dr. Gosia Ornatowska imported her first minis from and bred independantly in the Western Cape.
In 2018 my association with Gosia began when she agreed to let me co own Salazar. A boy who brought so much to our small breeding program.
In 2026 I was able to return her kindness and send her a chocolate wild boar female giving back her original lines, which she had lost but I had maintained.
Gosia named her Nitka which in Polish means 'Thread'. I kept Savanna, a chocolate boar from the same litter.
These 2 girls were the first chocolate we had bred in 7 years. Their dam Rosemsha Sandpearl was bred by Gosia, using our boy Arik in 2022
Their sire is Wildervale No Need for Introduction (Borys)
In 2024, at a dog show, I was introduced to Claudia. My association and friendship with her and Matthew Berry (Boavida Gundog centre) began shortly thereafter.
They had imported Nantje Vom Ringshof (FCI) in 2018 and a client of theirs had imported Xantos Vom Dienei a year later.
Their focus remained with their Gundogs, but from Nantje's second litter they kept a female Bella, and required a suitable stud for her.
Todate they have used both Pablo and Tango.
In 2025, from Nantje's 3rd litter with Xantos, I got Boavida Elliot who introduced a quality outcross with a smaller working type confirmation to our Standard lines.
He also carries the black and tan gene which is most welcome.
Our focus is good health and temperament with all our dogs PRA tested and since 2016 back-screened and IVDD Certified.
